An iPad application that offers a live stream of the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor hit the top of the charts in Apple's App Store on Thursday.

The Michael Jackson Doctor Trial App from .'s Fox Television Stations costs 99 cents and is also available for the and devices.

It was number one on the list of top paid iPad news apps in Apple's App Store on Thursday and number 29 on the list of all paid iPad apps.

The app offers live streaming coverage from the courtroom, breaking news alerts, daily video highlights and legal analyis and expert commentary.

Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, is accused of manslaughter over the pop star's death, allegedly by giving him an overdose of the powerful sedative propofol.

Murray, 58, faces up to four years in jail if convicted of involuntary manslaughter by a jury of seven men and five women.
