Briefs: Pegasus Wireless buys SKI Taiwan plant

Pegasus Wireless has acquired Taiwan's SKI Technologies, giving the California solutions producer a manufacturing and distribution outlet in Asia.
The stock-and-cash transaction sets the stage for California-based Pegasus' ultimate goal, which is bringing its line of wireless products to the retail level without the need for contract manufacturing, officials said.

"SKI is dedicated to continually improving the manufacturing process by supplying the most competitive product at the lowest cost possible, and by selecting them as the element that concludes our strategic acquisitions, we are confident that we can now focus our efforts on the organic growth of Pegasus Wireless as a united entity," Pegasus President Jasper Knabb said in a statement Thursday.

SKI was established in 2001 as an ISO-9001 certified producer of fiber cables, base stations and wireless local area network products. The company has commercial ties with major Taiwan energy companies and local university research centers.
