Anti-spam added to Unified Communications

February 3, 2006

McAfee's anti-spam technology has been added to AT&T's Unified Communications wireless and broadband services.

The upgrade will further protect Unified's residential and small-business customers who use a common system for their voice, e-mail and fax messages.

McAfee said Friday that its virus-protection products were already in use by Unified throughout its 13-state territory. The spam fighter will be offered at no charge to subscribers.

"An integrated and secure content management solution was needed to protect customers' incoming and outgoing mail, helping to clean critical gateways and infection points," said McAfee Vice President Parveen Jain. "Our McAfee gateway appliances are 'configure-and-forget' solutions that are easy to deploy, manage and use."
