Discovery crew to go through rehearsal

October 6, 2007

The seven astronauts scheduled to board the space shuttle Discovery will travel to NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida for a dress rehearsal.

Astronauts and ground crews next week will participate in simulated countdown activities and training exercises, the space agency reported Friday.

The space shuttle was rolled from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39A, where the payload was installed in the shuttle's cargo bay, including a module bound for the International Space Station.

Oct. 23 is the launch target date.
