New Devices Open Communications for Deaf
Ken Gan demonstrates his Interpretype device at his business in Rochester, N.Y., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007. The device, which Gan developed five years ago to better communicate with the deaf customers at his auto repair shop, has a keyboard and display that hooks up to another Interpretype or a PC, allowing a hearing person and a deaf person to communicate back and forth by typing messages to each other.
