Fighting Fat and Climate Change
November 11th, 2007 By SETH BORENSTEIN , AP Science Writer(AP) -- America's obesity epidemic and global warming might not seem to have much in common. But public health experts suggest people can attack them both by cutting calories and carbon dioxide at the same time.

Try not to breath out. Your breath is chock full of water vapor and a small amount of CO2.
And don't burp or fa*t. Methane is a biggie too.
"The major greenhouse gases are water vapor, which causes about 36-70% of the greenhouse effect on Earth (not including clouds); carbon dioxide, which causes 9-26%; methane, which causes 4-9%, and ozone, which causes 3-7%."
Being a strict vegan I was very happy to see news
coverage about what the meat industry is doing to
our planet.
It upsets me that this has been overlooked by Al
Gore, yet it is a very disturbing truth that is
going on every minute of every day.
In the news it has been recommended that we consume less red meat in an effort te help save the environment to improve our health. Unless yo have been hibernating forhte last 20 years, you are well aware of heart disease and where it stems from. If you do not agree that red meat is one of the worst things you can put into your body, by choice, then please think what the doctors tell us when we have high cholestrol, high blood pressure or unfortunately a stroke or heart attack. They tell us to stop eating red meat and get some exercise.
We know processing red meat hurts our environment. It has been said that it takes 3000 gallons of water to produce one pound of red meat. This can be argued. According to the Cattlemen's Beef Board and National Cattlemen's Beef Association it takes 195,750 gallons of water to produce a 1000 pound cow to human consumption.
We also know that red meat is a main, if not the
main cause of heart disease in our country.
If you don't know, an innocent cow is slaughtered
and tortured beyond belief for our consumption. Many times they are still alive and feel more pain than one can imagine while they are being 'processed' so they can sit on a plate.
Red meat.....where is the good?
