TI develops line of zero-drift amplifiers

Texas Instruments has developed a line of zero-drift amplifiers targeted at the consumer and precision-device markets.
The OPA333 family features ultra-low offset and current operation down to 1.8 volts, which TI said in a release makes it ideal for a new generation of consumer products as well as sensitive medical and test equipment and security systems.

"The OPA333 will serve as a key building-block component in advanced, next-generation applications that demand an unmatched combination of precision, low power, low operating voltage and miniature packages," cheered TI Vice President Gregg Lowe.

The Dallas chip company created the OPA333 using its CMOS technology, which provides both low offset voltage and virtually no drift. Drift refers to a gradual change in the resistance and calibration of a device. It is a common complaint among designers of Meta Content Framework technology.
