Briefs: High hopes for wireless TV at CeBIT

March 7, 2006

Linking television and wireless technology will be one of the biggest issues to be examined at one of the world's biggest technology conferences.

As Germany prepares to host the World Cup soccer games, demand for better television sets that come equipped with mobile technology will likely be high, as well as for high-definition television.

More than 5,000 exhibitors are expected to attend the trade fair in Hanover, which is now in its 20th year.

Another closely watched product will be the latest offering from Microsoft. The software giant's so-called Origami device has been much touted by the company, but details of the product have yet to be unveiled.
