Stop & Shop cookie recall is updated

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced an update of a recall of Luigi's Bakery cookies sold by Stop & Shop supermarkets in New York in Connecticut.
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. of Quincy, Mass., initiated the recall Nov. 21 because the product's label did not list as ingredients artificial colors that can cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.

The FDA said subsequent testing determined the cookies also contained milk and sulfur dioxide, both of which were not listed on the label and can cause allergic reactions in some people

The cookies were packaged on a plastic plate with an overwrap and a Luigi's bakery sticker affixed to them. They have a UPC code of 20549910000.

Customers with questions may contact the company at 800-767-7772.
