(AP) -- Individual privacy is under threat around the world as governments continue introducing surveillance and information-gathering measures, according to an international rights group.

The US isn't "near" the bottom, it's "at" the bottom. Privacy isn't being eroded here, it's already gone.

Be sure to thank your congressman, preferably with a swift kick in the butt on his way out of office.
