Cut-Off Cancer Patient to Get $9M
February 24, 2008 By THOMAS WATKINS, Associated Press Writer(AP) -- A woman who had her medical coverage canceled as she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer has been awarded more than $9 million in a case against one of California's largest health insurers.

Granted, doctors do a lot of good in their communities. It is simply a shame on the profession when they can simply stop treating a patient because of an inability to pay. It is too much like a form of extortion.
