(AP) -- An international manufacturer of solar energy equipment plans to turn a plot of desert real estate into its North American hub for production, giving New Mexico officials hope that the state can become a player in the renewable energy industry.

Wow this is kind of exciting. With this news today it culminates my newest experiment into solar energy. It should go active tomorrow after I do some finishing touches on it. I might have created the world's first Solar Heated Duplex Birdhouse. No kidding. It might even be too hot for our fine feathered friends but it will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this idea works. No it isn't my own idea but I utilized it to warm up a duplex apartment birdhouse. No electric and no moving parts. Solar energy is the future and I do these things to entice science school teachers to use them in their science classes. Judging only by sticking a finger into the bird's entry door, it felt too warm to be comfortable. Tomorrow I will add the testing instruments. So New Mexico gets a real great producer of solar cells for direct conversion into electricity. That is great. Good luck to the company and its workers and the state.
