Kids pear juices are recalled in Canada
Canadian officials are warning against consuming President's Choice- and Beech Nut-brand pear juices because of possible arsenic contamination.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the juices, distributed across Canada by Loblaws Inc. of Brampton, Ontario, are "President's Choice Organics Pear Juice from Concentrate for Toddlers" and "Beech Nut Pear Juice from Concentrate with Vitamin C added."
The President's Choice juice bears UPC 0-60383-70935-8, while the Beech Nut juice displays UPC 0-523842-8. Both have been recalled from stores across Canada.
Arsenic is a toxic heavy metal that might be carcinogenic and can pose developmental risks for children.
Consumers with questions can contact Loblaws at 888-495-5111 of the CFIA at 800-442-2342.
