This graphic charts the number of days that cherry blossoms, marmot and field skippers emerge.

(AP) -- The capital's famous cherry trees are primed to burst out in a perfect pink peak about the end of this month. Thirty years ago, the trees usually waited to bloom till around April 5.

    8 hours early? Is that statistically significant?

    So all these people assumed a premise, then set out to find data to fit it? That's what passes for science? That's not science, that's politics.

    The late 70's were the coldest period in USA history since about 1910.

    What about the 30's ... when did they bloom?

    1934 was the warmest year and the 30's were the warmest decade.

    Oh wait :

    "The date when the Yoshino cherry blossoms reach their peak bloom varies from year to year, depending on the weather. Unseasonably warm and/or cool temperatures have resulted in the trees reaching peak bloom as early as March 15 (1990) and as late as April 18 (1958)."

    This just in, the Almond Bloom in Central California was 2 weeks late, does that mean it's Global Cooling.
