I wonder how much more idiotic patents and pathetic lawsuits will it take for US to stop patenting everything and instead focus on real not obvious innovations.

THE ROLE OF PATENTS IS TO HELP THE SOCIETY!

At the moment they serve 2 groups:

1. Assh.les who patent obvious things thanks to judges incompetence or ill will and then sue others left and right to get rich at their expense.

2. Firms with armies of lawyers who patent everything related to their line of business and then use those mostly obvious patents to harass potential competition.

It is wrong and it is harmful for society, it creates a very hostile environment in many industries and it really has to change!
