Cracker Barrel recalls chocolate candy
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Cracker Barrel-brand chocolate-covered almonds and peanuts because of a labeling error.
The FDA said Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. of Lebanon, Tenn., initiated the recall of 5-ounce bags of chocolate-covered almonds and 5-ounce bags of chocolate double-dipped peanuts because boxes labeled as containing almonds might actually contain peanuts and boxes labeled as containing peanuts might contain almonds. The FDA said the labeling error poses a health hazard for people with a severe sensitivity to peanuts or almonds.
The products were sold at Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores in 41 states, packaged in a clear plastic bag with a red and white diamond pattern on the label.
Consumers who purchased the recalled products may return them for a refund or they can contact the company at 800-333-9566 for additional information.
