Chicken dumpling soup mix is recalled

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of 99 boxes of Maggie & Mary's brand chicken dumpling soup mix due to a possible health risk.
The FDA said the North Aire Market of Shakopee, Minn., initiated the recall because the soup mix might contain undeclared traces of almonds, posing a health risk to people allergic to nuts.

The lot codes involved in the nationwide recall are 0730810, 0720810, 0910810, 0920811, 0920810, 0930810 or 0980810. The codes are found on the bottom of the box.

Officials said the dumplings in the soup mix might have been exposed to residual traces of almonds that could have been present on machinery used to earlier package another produce containing almonds. The recall was precipitated by an uncertainty as to whether a sanitizing procedure was properly followed.

Consumers who purchased Maggie & Mary's Chicken Dumpling Soup Mix can contact the North Aire Market at 800-662-3781 to obtain a refund.
