Compatibility of bluray with PCs? What a novel idea.

When it looked like both formats were going to survive and that dual format players or dual format discs were going to be the answer, I considered buying one of the cheaper HDDVD players. But there is no way I'd spend 400 bucks on a first or second generation optical disc player. Call me when I can pick one up in my local grocery store for 50 bucks. That's when I got my first DVD player. (Course I'd had a DVD writer on my computer for a while, but that's neither here nor there as far as stand-alone players are concerned.)

I am waiting for higher flash memory capacities, like a flash hard drive...forget new disc formats.

For now, I could use a portable 500G HD, just give me a USB port on any digital player and forget $ONY's monopolized blu-ray.
