(AP) -- The glowing amber dot on a light switch in the entryway of George Tsapoitis' house offers a clue about the future of electricity.

    While I truly love the idea of smarter houses I don't think that the average North American household will be willing to shell out the money for the added equipment that could make it happen.
    Here in Quebec, where our electricity is mostly produced by hydro-electric dams and is government owned, our electricity is relatively cheap ...timers are alot more cost-effective for energy conservation
