(AP) -- Hackers often harness the combined power of thousands of virus-infected personal computers to pump out spam e-mail or disable targeted servers by overwhelming them with Internet traffic.

    Another article from the AP using the term "hackers" carelessy. This example is more likely nasty spammers or organized crime, not hacking. Hacking has nothing to do with power struggle or profit.
