By DALE GAVLAK , Associated Press Writer, General Science / Archaeology & Fossils

This "Christian cave" claim reminds me of the ongoing controversy about the exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls traveling around the United States and elsewhere, in which the evidence has (so it is said) been distorted to cater to a Christian audience. See, e.g.,

It should be pointed out that the exhibit will soon be opening at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, which is a state-run institution -- a fact that raises obvious First Amendment (i.e., church-state) concerns, particularly in view of the fact that the "Jewish" interpretation of the scrolls has been downplayed and excluded by the exhibitors.
