GoLive2 Introduces a Wiimote for PC Games

For all Wii-lovers out there, GoLive2 has recently announced the Stix, a motion-sensing remote control that can be used to play PC games.

Using similar technology to the Wii, the wireless Stix allows users to control games with arm and wrist movements from a distance, as opposed to using the keyboard and mouse.

GoLive2 says that the Stix will be compatible with thousands of free Web-based games, as well as Games For Windows® titles. The company has launched a free online game portal called Sphere that provides hundreds of free games for ages six through adult. The games at Sphere include those developed by GoLive2 as well as third-party games that support Stix.

The site also provides a search engine that allows users to find thousands of compatible third-party games on the Internet. In addition, users will be able to configure their favorite PC games to preferred Stix settings. Another feature will allow users of all skill levels to develop new games that work with the Stix.

The Stix will be available starting in August. Users can choose from three different types of Stix: the Stix 400 for advanced gamers, which is compatible with both 2D and 3D environments; the Stix 200, which is compatible with 2D environments; and the Stix 100, which is the starter pack with some limited capabilities. Prices have not yet been revealed.
