eBay beats Tiffany in court case over trademarks

(AP) -- EBay Inc. scored an important victory in court Monday, as a federal judge said companies such as jeweler Tiffany & Co. are responsible for policing their trademarks online, not auction platforms like eBay.

    I hope Viacom and the RIAA take note.

    hmmm as a footnote... Since the introduction of MP3 wasn't CD sales supposed to be obsolete by now, werent there supposed to be whole pile of musicians all put out of work and starving since the introduction of MP3 - according to the RIAA ?

    I assume nobody told Hanna Montana...that today's young computer savvy brats will siphon everything off the net and not go to her concerts, watch her videos, buy her music, etc...according to the RIAA... anyways, as I cool down, back to the topic...

    This is a good thing. It wasnt ebay's fault, they cant scrutinize every piece of junk that gets sold online.
