(AP) -- A high-profile push by business groups to double the number of U.S. bachelor's degrees awarded in science, math and engineering by 2015 is falling way behind target, a new report says.

It's pretty obvious why the United States isn't producing more scientists - our high school curriculum is practically designed specifically to dissuade students from studying science. What we really need is a general overhaul of science education, specifically in high schools.
