Intel's new chip to be called Core i7

(AP) -- Intel Corp. said Sunday it plans to sell its new generation of chips for desktop computers under the established "Core" brand, with the first chips of the new line to be called Core i7.

    They won't rock if AMD goes under ... given enough time. What would be the incentive to innovate and yet still keep prices reasonable like they are now? I have a 3GHz C2D and a DP35DP MoBo here, both Intel products, and they do rock (fast, stable, reliable) under both XP x64 and Ubuntu x64. I'll still buy AMD every other time as long as I can. A market monopoly is good for no one.
