Scientists developing small robotic drones to become part of Air Force's arsenal

September 17, 2008 By Aamer Madhani

It may look like a futuristic arcade game, but it's a scene from an official Air Force animated video: Bad guys of indiscernible origin being shadowed, from a careful distance, by small robotic drones designed to resemble birds and insects.

if they can't carry payload?!?!? wtf ?? anyone every hear of chemical and biological warfare!? the main reason that the billions of dollars spent on this shit in the 80's never went anywhere was because the weaponized agents were overly broad and could not be used to target specific enemies ( and might even harm us) .....a grasshopper flying camera is the ultimate agent for delivering weaponized chemical/bio agents. in fact, a lady bug sized would be even better. ...........problem is ..we're not even close to being there.

the clear tech principle of our age is that making things smaller is harder than making them bigger, but it's much much better. go bio weapon bugcam!

Perhaps the article would be more appropriately titled as small, pilotless, robotic drones.

When did they switch from µAV or µUAV to MAV. Have I been in a hole for 5 years? That being said mu is difficult to put on a web post since it's not on the standard US-101 keyboard. I just remembered my college days and the big buzz about the little observation vehicles tehn and I thought everone used the Mu. Enough rambling for now.
