Toshiba Launches 1.8 inch 250Gb SATA Hard Drive

Toshiba has announced their new MKxx29GSG series 1.8-inch SATA Hard drives, including the 1.8-inch 250GB(MK2529GSG) hard drive, which is the first in the industry.

This new series of drives features a 5400RPM spin speed with a transfer rate up to 3GB/sec. There is also a 8Mb cache buffer and a micro-SATA connector. There is also a 120Gb and 160Gb version in Toshiba's MKxx29GSG series hard drives.

Some Key Features include:

-- 1.8 inch footprint with up to 250Gb of storage

-- Spin Speed of 5400RPM

-- Data transfer rate of up to 3GB per sec.

-- Serial ATA 2.6 / ATA-8 interface

-- Micro SATA connector

-- 8Mb data cache buffer

With Toshiba's new micro-SATA connector, Serial-ATA 3.0Gb/s interface and 5400 RPM spin speed, the MKxx29GSG series offers small and light-weight solutions, at increased data transfer rates for enhanced performance, in compact laptops.
