NASA delays repair mission to Hubble telescope (Update 2)

(AP) -- NASA said Monday it is delaying its mission to the Hubble Space Telescope until next year because of a serious breakdown of the observatory in orbit.

First NICMOS goes down, and now this. Let's hope NASAs backup system can overcome this hurdle so the (now) 2009 mission can be implemented. HST has survived worse problems, so fingers crossed for this latest snafu. Go Hubble!

According to the press briefing, if they HAVE to (i.e. Side B doesn't work), then they may be able to launch this year.
