Netgear Launches A New Family Of Wireless-N Routers

September 29th, 2008 by John Messina Netgear WNB2100

Netgear today has announced a new family of Wireless-N networking solutions that will make it easy for anyone to upgrade their wireless home network to Wireless-N technology. This new technology supports the simultaneous use of bandwidth running intensive applications such as video streaming, voice-over-IP, online gaming and QoS (quality of service) to ensure the correct prioritization of traffic.

Netgearīs family of wireless routers include the WNR2000 (Wireless-N router) and the DGN2000 (Wireless-N Modem Router). Included with both models is NETGEARīs Smart Wizard installation CD for quick and easy installation.

Once the routers are installed, NETGEARīs Push īNī Connect with WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) eliminate the need to remember network security passwords. Users can securely connect computers to the router with the simple press of a button.

In addition to the Wireless-N Router and Wireless-N Modem Router, Netgear has also announced availability of networking kits that come with a Wireless-N USB adapter (WN111). This allows consumers to upgrade their computers to the new Wireless-N technology. The Wireless-N Modem Router (DGN2000) incorporates an ADSL2+ modem so that users can upgrade their existing DSL equipment and eliminate the need for an external modem.

The Wireless-N Modem Router is fully compatible with AT&T, EarthLink, Verizon, Qwest and other DSL Internet service providers. With multiple SSID support in the Wireless-N Modem Router, creating a unique SSID and security for guest access is now possible without needing to share the userīs own security code.

Netgearīs networking kits include a Wireless-N Router and USB Adapter Kit (WNB2100) and Wireless-N Modem Router and USB Adapter Kit (DGNB2100). The Wireless-N USB Adapter (WN111) lets consumers upgrade their computer to take advantage of the Wireless-N technology.

The Wireless-N Router (WNR2000) and Wireless-N Modem Router (DGN2000) as well as the WNB2100 and DGNB2100 networking kits have a one-year warranty and is backed by 24/7 technical support. The price range for Netgearīs routerīs and network kits is between $89 and $129.
