Experts warn species in peril from climate change

(AP) -- Climate change threatens to kill off up to a third of the planet's species by the end of the century if urgent action isn't taken to restore fragile ecosystems, protect endangered animals and manage growth, scientists warned Wednesday as a wildlife summit opened.

"Wildlife pathways" at lease through urban areas have not been shown to work well. For some reason the animals don't cooperate by using the pathways...

Speaking as a person who sees deer crossing the road at least every other day on the way to and from work (this is whithin city limits mind you) you couldn't be more correct Gray.

I'd like to know where the figure "1/3 of all species" comes from and what organisms it includes. Especially considering that 3/4 of the planet's non-single celled species are insects.
