EU tells music lovers to turn down MP3 players

(AP) -- The European Union told music lovers Monday to turn down the volume of MP3 players, saying they risk permanent hearing loss from listening too long at maximum levels.

Of course, 110dB on one set of headphones is 70dB on another, so all this does is make people with something nicer than earbuds buy a clunky headphone amplifier and crank it to whatever level they want. Wonder if Apple is working on one specially for the iPod...
