- Previously lived in AK (on Keating Dr.)
- Charles Keating's granddaughter is married to a Wurzelbacher

About this Joe the plumber guy, both sides put this person in the spotlight. They opened up on an average guy and pretty much destroyed him overnight. If you want to politicize someone, research a little bit more about them before you put them through public scrutiny. It's irresponsible of the Republicans to do put this guy on stage. It's irresponsible for the Democrats to demonize someone so quickly. Both parties are to blame for this one.

The first post didn't read Democratic. The second one was anti-Joe. Mine was kind of a troll. I just posted bits of information and asked the reader to think for himself.
I'm an independent and supported Ron Paul, and frankly think the McCain campaign and the Obama campaign are equally corrupt. I still intend to write in Ron Paul for President.
Your anti-Democratic bias shines, though. Of the four posts, yours reads the most biased.

I am stunned by the inability of so many posters here to recognize my posting (1st in this thread) to be an "ode to the traditional American work ethic", not a praise of the literal Joe the plumber!
I bet some of these guys are still trying to figure out what "Yes, Virgina, there is a Santa Claus" was all about!
http://en.wikiped...ta_Claus
I'm sorry some of these people live in such a literal world that allegory and abstract ideals are lost on them.
And, oh! I've learned my lesson:
Disclaimer: I assure you that "OMG!" meaning "Oh My God!" is intended only to express surprise and astonishment.
I did NOT a) mean to take God's name in vain (for all you literal thinking religious nuts), nor did I mean to insult any agnostic or atheist who may happen to read this post literally.
I now realize that a saying like, "As American as motherhood, apple pie and baseball..." is now off limits because it potentially offends ultra literal readers who could assume I'm dissing non-American, feminists, football lovers and abusing the Apple Computer trademark for the enrichment of apple growers and/or the big bad pie makers industrial complex.
...and yes, believe it or not anti-PC readers, apples did fall from trees before Jobs founded Apple. Check Wikipedia under the entries for "Adam and Eve" and "Sir Issac Newton".

The same thing happened back in the 92 election to some average Joe. I'm amazed by all this punditry on this site. I'm amazed that this article is still up. Like someone posted before, "I'm a registered Independent." I am a registered Independent and was once a registered Republican when McCain was running in the 2000 election. McCain is a big disappointment in my eyes. When he bashed Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell then recanted a year later, it was the start of a horrible legacy for McCain.
BTW, it wasn't the Democrats that tore "Joe the Plumber" down. It was the media. Even Fox News admits this in their transcripts.
http://www.foxnew...,00.html
If you don't know about political plants then you know very little about politics. If you parade around pointing the finger and never focusing on the important issues, (ie. the economy, trade deals with foreign powers that reduce our national security, a bailout that both candidates supported, more bailouts that McCain is proposing, etc) then you need to grow up and stop playing games that children play with each other. My dad might not be bigger than yours and to be honest with you I could care less. If you believe that Obama said anything derogatory then you haven't listened to anything that Obama said about the working class, small businesses, you don't listen at all. If all you want is to win regardless of the consequence then you do not give a shit about the American people. You only give a shit about yourself and maintaining your own sense of power. When McCain says that Obama wants to spread the wealth, well, I hate to say this, but so does McCain. Where will he get the money to cover a $300 Billion dollar bailout for home mortgages. Mainly from the lower to middle class. What good is that money going to do in order to renegotiate the value of the property? Where is that money going to go to? It's going to go to the banks that pulled money out of their customers savings to pay for their executive bonuses. Banks will get the difference through negotiation with that money. They need to go to prison, not rewarded.

The media lies about this matter, as well as conveniently neglecting Obama's perfect paraphrase of communism, yet it takes about two minutes of internet research to find these things out. So not only are the spin doctors to blame, so are the people that trust those spin doctors implicitly.
If you live in a solid red or solid blue state (most of us do), then the fastest way to throw away your vote is voting red or blue. Learn how the electoral college works. Politicians, if they have any brains at all (sometimes I wonder) should know there are three voter blocs in this country: solid democrats, solid republicans, and the swing/independent vote. Since the solid party voters are pretty much equally matched, it is the swing vote (and the media) that elect the president. Help make politicians cater to that swing vote by DEFINING the desires of the swing vote. Vote third party this election. There really are better candidates out there than Obama or McCain.
