(PhysOrg.com) -- Nokia has announced the unveiling of two new Nseries devices that's aimed at driving down the cost of their smartphones. The N85 model will be replacing the N81 and upgrades the camera from two to five megapixels, also adding GPS both for mapping and for geotagging shots. The N85 also switches to a 2.6-inch AMOLED screen that will supply richer colors and extends music player time to 28 hours on a single charge.

The N85 slider also has controls suited to playing games from Nokia´s service in landscape view. Memory capacity has been increased with this headset and opted against the built-in storage of the N81´s 8GB and instead bundles an 8GB microSDHC card. This gives owners the option of an upgrade to 16GB or beyond in the future. Internet access is supplied either through HSDPA-based 3G or through Wi-Fi.

The Nokia N85 is pre-loaded with at least 10 made-for-mobile N-Gage gaming titles that jump off of the screen thanks to the dazzling OLED display and a voucher to activate one full game license. Dedicated gaming keys light up when the device is in landscape gaming mode to further enhance the action-packed experience.

Nokia´s state-of-the-art 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and bright dual LED flash captures clear, sharp images as well as DVD-quality videos at 30 frames per second. Combine this with with A-GPS, it´s possible to geotag your favorite pictures to see where each photo was taken using the Nokia Maps application or online sites such as Share on Ovi or Flickr.

The N79 model replaces the N78 and upgrades the camera from 3.2 to five megapixels and incorporated a dual-LED based flash. Nokia is marketing this phone as a fashion phone with swappable back covers that changes the look to the owner´s preferences. The candybar design also come equipped with a full 3G, GPS, and Wi-Fi feature set and extends music player time to 24 hours on a single charge. A 4GB microSD card gives it more storage than the earlier handset.

The N79 is due to cost around $515 and the N85 will be around $660, both expecting to ship in October.

The technology is cool but who can afford to buy this? Rich people I guess. These asshats should be thinking of ways to make this stuff cheaper not craming it with more 'features' to charge more.
