(AP) -- A fight within the Democratic Party over control of the House Energy and Commerce Committee could influence the outcome of President-elect Obama's efforts to limit the heat-trapping gases blamed for global warming.

Yep, effectively it's another way to limit economic growth. If I was one of the companies involved I'd move my entire infrastructure to a country that doesn't have these restrictions, like India, China, Africa, oh wait... Economic expatriation is killing the US, Europe and the former Soviet Union. Damn, looks like business beat us to it.

It's going to be Jimmy Carter all over again, unemployment, skyrocketing taxes, double-digit inflation and disrespect around the globe.
Happy days are here again!!! :)
Too bad there's not another Ronald Reagan around to pull us out when the party's over.

Yep. It will be an operating cost and passed along to the consumer.... like everything else. I'd rather see enironmental costs added at the cash register so we can see what it is costing us.

Would that be the same Ronald Reagan that was in office during the 1982 recession and Black Monday, 1987? I hate to break this to you, but it's been proven that Democrat Presidents are better for the economy. http://www.washin...6282.php

Seeing as the democrats put into law the acts that deregulated the morgage market under Clinton, I'd say you're wrong, and biased. Both parties are terrible for the economy because they won't take a hard line on a completely free market, or a completely regulated socialized market.

Velanarris, you are correct both parties have strayed too far from American ideals. Where does one go?

Where his intellect leads him in deciding candidates. If all the available candidates are horrible, run yourself or write in. That's all you can really do. That is, unless someone has found a way to legally justify not paying income tax. Then you can fund starve them out of office.

Even better yet, do like us few Constitutionalists in MA do. Run against them.
