British scientists in urgent call for nanoparticles research

November 12th, 2008 Titanium dioxide in sunscreen, which contains nanoparticles, is highly effective in preventing skin cancer

A woman puts sunscreen on a nine-year-old's face as they visit the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, June 2006. British scientists called Wednesday for urgent research into the health implications of nanoparticles, which are found in a wide range of everyday products, including sunscreen, but whose effects are virtually unknown.

Nanoparticles can be much more toxic then asbestos I advice everyone to stay away from them until they are either proven safe (very unlikely) or biodegradable ones are developed.
