Startup banks on making money from free broadband
December 14th, 2008 By JOELLE TESSLER , AP Technology Writer(AP) -- For the past three years, a startup called M2Z Networks has been figuring out a way to blanket the nation with a free wireless broadband network to ensure all Americans have access to basic high-speed Internet connections.

satellite, microwave, and cell phone based approaches. Where I live satellite is available but pricey and throttled, microwave is available
but doesn't work well, and reliable cellphone
service requires a pricey amplifier. My electric co-op isn't interested in BB over Power line .
When the weather is 10 below zero (F) I hate
driving 25 miles to sit in the Subway parkinglot!
