Time out, The finding of the HPV/Cervical cancer tie will save countless women, the guy probably does deserve an award, it helped a lot of people become avare of the link between viruses and cancer that a lot of people were completely unaware of. That said, My first suspicion of corruption in the Nobel commitees came after Gore won a Peace prize for a political video about climate change.

Agreed, the scientist who effectively cured most types of cervical cancer deserves this award.

Is this even a serious story? It's a joke, right? A better use of this guy's time would be to hire a panel of psychiatrists to examine the committee that awarded the IPCC and Al Gore the PEACE PRIZE! Then, the headline would be "Nobel Peace Prize Committee Found To Be Insane."

After the whole thing with the too-young Chinese girls competing in the gymnastics at the Olympics (a scandal in which the Chinese government was implicated), this comes as no surprise. China is trying to buy, bully, or bluster its way onto the world stage.
