December 24, 2008 By Anne Krishnan

Q: Recently I downloaded an XP update from Microsoft. All was OK until I attempted to open a .tif attachment on an e-mail from a trusted sender. It would not open.

this kind of thing really doesnt belong on physorg... thats what the hundreds of xp and mac websites and tips and forums are for. the reason why all decent science sites die is that marketing in some way decides to make them more appealing to the masses. scientific american is no better now than omni, or discover, yet it used to be a respected place to be published. now with socialist crapola (something that scientists should know better given that they are presumed to be smart), and trite crud, why bother reading?

of course, once the NOISE level goes up with stuff like this, then people will gravitate to a place where they get the information they want.

this problem and solution is a basic function in windoes for over 10 years... you would ahve to be a total luddite to not know how to get an image up and other such things (even worse, windows prompts you int his situation).

this is the same old same old bland crappy marketing thing in which they appeal to the mass of idiots, and so dont actually answer any real hard problems.

this is a PHYSICS and SCIENCE area... the people here are a bit more unequal than others, even if its just in interests alone.

hey... why dont you change this into a mens magazine, and a womans magazine, and be the swiss army knife of websites? (any one notice that toms hardware is now dead because of this?)

if this the kind of thing that will happen here, i will have to find some other place to get my info. i dont have the time to read idiot tips for idiots who wont do a google search and have way too much time to write other idiots to answer dumb ass questions.

    what science did this represent?

basically its a freaking advertisement for the news observer..

oh wow we are too stupid to figure that out..

    insulting isnt it?

I can't help noticing how all the science blogs that ridicule religion and appear to lean toward atheism are idle today. Apparently the writers are all still recovering from Festivus celebrations last night. That probably explains some of these articles getting on the boards.

"Think you can stump the geeks?" They were stumped by these questions and do not belong on Physorg.asm

How really dumb to post such an article on a site like Physorg? What's wrong with the site admins? Don't they know such stuff doesn't belong here? There are numerous forums and tech sites which answer such computer problems. Keep such silly topics off Physorg and let it only be for science related articles.

What's wrong with the site admins?

they have gone leftist socialist communist and have to support the ideology of their masters...

of course they think they are all being part of the team, but the truth is, that they are being used, and being used to poison the well.

    lysenko is smiling broadly somewhere...
