Biofuels may speed up, not slow global warming: study
February 15, 2009 by Mira Oberman
This image received in 2005 shows a new biodiesel fuel pump at The Grange in Issaquah, Washington. The use of crop-based biofuels could speed up rather than slow down global warming by fueling the destruction of rainforests, scientists warned Saturday.

Gibbs is correct as far as she goes and so is GrayMouser. Not taken into consideration is the production of bio-fuels from algae on non-arable lands using non-potable water. This is the only solution that makes any sense and could be CO2 neutral.- report abuse
