Tokyo Electric Power Co. will build a solar power plant in the US state of California through its subsidiary Eurus Energy Holdings Corp., according to a report. It plans to begin operations at the 1000 kilowatt plant by 2010 on a site yet to be selected, the Nikkei business daily reported.

One ... measly... little... megawatt. I fart more energy than that. That kind of plant isn't even worth building.

They could build a 20 gigawatt hydro dam, or a 10 gigawatt fission plant complete with the ability to burn its own waste, and instead they're building a 0.001 gigawatt solar plant. Ahahahahahahahaha!

That's just the nameplate capacity. The capacity factor is ~0.2, for an average power output of ~200 kW(about 6 cars cruising down the highway).

I prefer putting solar on all the houses in the area and letting them feedback into the grid. That way the city becomes a generator instead of relying on an external source to feed the city...

Surely they will have tax breaks for that in the new stimulus bill?
