MySpace on Monday invited its members to become volunteer "uReporters" by supplying news pictures or videos for use at the social networking website and Fox News network.

Fox service MySpace uReport went live online at www.myspace.com/ureport.

"Fox News has created a great asset with the uReport service," Fox News Roger Ailes said in a release.

"The MySpace uReport community presents an extraordinary opportunity to expand our network of citizen journalists."

MySpace users can upload pictures or videos, not written stories, to uReport. Fox has editorial control of uReport pages and can use submitted content at its cable news channel or its foxnews.com website.

"This synergy with Fox News reinforces what MySpace is all about; providing users the ability to share, explore, connect and consume," said MySpace co-founder and chief executive Chris DeWolfe.

"Time and time again we?re inspired by the creative, original content that the MySpace community produces and shares online. I look forward to seeing what they come up with when presented with the opportunity to be featured on-air."
