Climate heavy-hitters to address House panel

April 24, 2009 By DINA CAPPIELLO , Associated Press Writer

(AP) -- Former Vice President Al Gore called a House bill that would curb the gases blamed for global warming the most important legislation ever in Congress.

Gore, who won a Nobel Prize for his work on global warming, is scheduled to testify before a House panel Friday morning. In testimony prepared for delivery, Gore says the legislation will simultaneously solve the problems of the climate, economy and national security.

The former vice president and one-time Tennessee senator described the bill as "one of the most important pieces of legislation ever introduced in the Congress." He predicted passing it would "restore America's leadership in the world and begin, at long last, to solve the climate crisis."

Gore's backing comes after three days of hearings where experts, Republicans and moderate Democrats expressed concern that the bill will drive up .

Gore will urge the House panel to make sure the bill includes provisions to protect those people who will unfairly face hardship, such as workers in energy-intensive industries who could lose their jobs.

Gore's celebrity on the issue of could generate much needed public support for the legislation.

After three days of panels and testimony and more than 50 witnesses espousing on the nitty-gritty details of the 648-page draft, the grand finale on Friday will feature Gore, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., and former Sen. John Warner, R-Va.

All have played leading roles in the issue of climate change - even though at times they have been on opposite sides of the debate.

Well since Gore has been shown as a fraud and a hypocrite, its not wonder that he is going to the Whitehouse.

This is just a staged event to set in motion and support for the largest tax increase and power grab in US history. This tax increase, which democrats will call carbon credit (typical liberal misspeak, why liberals cant speak the truth plainly shows how ignorant they think the rest of us are) This carbon (energy, life) tax will radically control and impoverish the general population, probably increase the release of carbon, all the while the elite liberals will have their private jets, mansions, and monster cars.

THE UNHEALTHY ALLIANCE OF POLITICS AND SCIENCE

In his 17 January 1961 Farewell Address to the Nation, U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us:

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

See: Eisenhower, Dwight D., Eisenhower Farewell Address to the Nation, January 17, 1961: http://mcadams.po.../ike.htm

How sad it has been to see that the decline of scientific integrity has tracked closely with increases in federal research funds since Eisenhower's 1961 warning.

    With kind regards,
    Oliver K. Manuel

Back when I wasn't paying much attention to the issues, I never liked Gore, but I nevertheless thought he was a fairly intelligent guy, and so he was probably right about global warming. I didn't care about it, one way or the other. I just thought he probably had his facts straight and was presenting them honestly.

Then I actually watched his slide show movie and started looking into the facts and realized that he had deliberately left out the part about changes in CO2 levels trailing, instead of leading, the changes in temperatures in the ice core records.

Irregardless of what that fact means, he didn't trust people enough to honestly show them the facts and try to explain his interpretation of them.

Now, I wouldn't trust him to trim my toenails.

I wouldn't consider AlGo a "climate heavy hitter." Considering his nearly failing his 2 college science classes he hardly has the intellectual qualifications for anything but the title of "Climate Clown".

According to Monckton he found out he wasn't debating AlGo after he got off the plane in the US. The Democrats has a "mystery guest" (AlGo) for Friday so the Republicans got their own "mystery guest" (Monckton) to rebut AlGo. Once the Democrats found out who was coming the barred him.

%u201CThe House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,%u201D Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. %u201CThey are cowards.

Gore the Profit lied to Congress. When asked point blank if he made any money out of the AGW con, he said it all went into non-profit making organisations. His nose is still growing!
