NTT DoCoMo to Market D901i

NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today that they will start selling the D901i 3G FOMA handset, the latest model in the advanced 901i series, nationwide on February 1, 2005.
The 901i series offers surround-type 3D sound for vivid ringing melodies and realistic audio effects when playing i-appli games or using other applications.

The main features of the D901i include:

-- An assist switch activated by a sliding movement to control operations, such as replying to mail and managing the scheduler.
-- Super CCD Honeycomb camera with effective resolution of 2 mega pixels. Auto focus. Focus lock function to recompose photos after focus is acquired.
-- Video at up to 30 frames/second. QVGA video can be recorded or played back with TV-broadcast quality.
-- Multi-illumination light on the bottom of the handset changes its color and blinking pattern to indicate incoming mail, phone calls, etc.

The D901i will be available through all NTT DoCoMo sales channels from February 1, 2005. The price of the handset will be open (unfixed).
