palmOne, Inc. today announced that the award-winning Treo 650 smartphone now is available to Verizon Wireless customers. The Treo 650 combines a compact, full-featured mobile phone with email, a Palm OS organizer, messaging and web access. The device can be used with NationalAccess, Verizon Wireless' high-speed Internet service with average data transmission speeds between 60 and 80 kilobits per second with bursts up to 144 Kbps, based on Verizon Wireless' stringent network tests.

The Treo 650 smartphone makes it easier than ever to stay connected. It simplifies life by combining a compact mobile phone with email, an organizer, messaging, and web access. There’s also Bluetooth technology so you can connect wirelessly to other Bluetooth devices. Not to mention an MP3 player, a digital camera that captures video, and a vibrant color screen that brings everything to life – all in a device that's still small enough to fit in your pocket.

An ideal device for mobile professionals, the Treo 650 is equipped with Wireless Sync, Verizon Wireless' always-on email service that offers customers constant synchronization of their email, calendar, contact list, tasks, and more. Wireless Sync for the Treo 650 includes inbox synchronization and the integration of up to three additional POP3 or IMAP email accounts. The service is compatible with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes.

The Treo 650 smartphone is available for $399.99 with a 2-year customer agreement.
