Ericsson launches new Internet platform

August 29, 2005

Ericsson launched Monday its latest Internet protocol platform that makes it easier for users to combine their voice and data networks.

The MX-ONE system offers telephony services across Internet networks to connect up to 7,000 users that can also be used on the go.

The Swedish telecommunications group said analog, digital, mobile and Internet phones can all be used interchangeably under the latest system.

The platform "enables organizations to make a future-proof investment that will help them fully reap the cost and productivity advantages of convergent fixed, Internet-protocol mobile networks," said Urban Gillstrom, president of Ericsson Enterprise.
