In Brief: Siemens supplies HiPath for LAN security
Siemens has started providing its HiPath Wireless Manager Advanced modules as a security measure for wireless LAN solutions.
The move bolsters Siemens' strategy for keeping up with the growth of wireless local area networks used for mobile business networks, company officials said Tuesday.
Stefan Miesbach, chief executive officer of the HiPath division, said in a news release that the platform provides monitoring capabilities, intrusion detection and visual mapping to enhance troubleshooting.
"The HWMA solution is an important part of Siemens' vision to make enterprise mobility easy," Miesbach said.
The solution is based largely on technology from AirTight wireless perimeter security products, which is being integrated into much of Siemens' wireless portfolio.
