TiVo offers dual recorder
April 26, 2006TiVo fans now have something new to smile about. The television digital video recorder company TiVo announced Tuesday the launch of its TiVo Series2 DT DVR May 1, which will allow consumers to record two shows at once.
The TiVo Series2 DT is the first standalone dual tuner DVR with TiVo service and features, the Alviso, Calif.-based company said.
"We've been hearing from our subscribers that they wanted a TiVo DVR that could record two shows at once," said Jim Denney, TiVo's vice president of product marketing. "With the TiVo Series2 DT DVR, we've delivered that capability to our customers at a very affordable price."
The Series2 DT will be available in an 80-hour model priced at $99.99 after rebate and service activation and can be found at retailers including Circuit City, Best Buy and Amazon.com, and online at http://www.tivo.com.
The company hopes to roll out new services this year that will allow TiVo users to program their TiVo box to record programs directly from select Verizon cell phones as well as TiVo KidZone, allowing parents to record oversea television programming.
