N.Z. Telecom has hot spots for PlayStation

September 20, 2005

Telecom New Zealand has opened up its wireless hot spots for connections to PlayStation Portable game devices.

Customers who are Xtra Broadband users will be able to connect the PlayStation Portables to either their home wireless broadband service or one of Telecom's 200 hot spots at no charge, although Stuff.NZ reports that usage counts against monthly high-speed allowances.

Executives at Telecom and Sony, the maker of the popular PlayStation, praised the arrangement as a great fit and a means of getting the most out of PlayStation's portability and technical capabilities.
