In Brief: Yahoo! integrates ask and search sites

May 15, 2006

Yahoo! said its question-and-answer site will be combined with its general search engine.

The Internet giant said Yahoo! Answers will be integrated with Yahoo! Search in Australia, Canada, India, Britain and the United States. Similar services will be offered to users in Spain, France and Germany soon.

"The integration of Yahoo! Answers with Web search demonstrates the Yahoo! Search vision to enrich people's lives by enabling them to find, use, share and expand all human knowledge," Eckart Walther, vice president of products at Yahoo! Search, said in a news release. "Yahoo! is providing a better search experience by making it easier for people to tap into the collective knowledge of others online for everyday questions."
