NASA astronaut to call home this week
E.T. did it and now NASA Astronaut Jeff Williams, a member of the International Space Station's Expedition 13 crew, is going to phone home.
Williams is scheduled to talk with students from the Winter School District in Wisconsin from 10:35 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. EDT Thursday. The event will be presented live on the Web and by NASA TV's public and media channel.
Williams and Expedition 13 Commander Pavel Vinogradov will answer questions about their mission from students in grades 3-12.
It will be a milestone for Williams since Winter, Wis., is his hometown, and his parents are expected to be in the audience.
The downlink is designed to encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
